REPORT OF THE CHURCHWARDENS ON THE FABRIC, GOODS AND PROPERTIES
2006-2007

2006 was a very busy year with building works that were designed to repair the roof and make the church and the tower damp proof. These works have only partly succeeded as damp, due to a blocked down pipe, has reappeared on the wall of the coffee vestry and on the wall behind the light switches. The contractors have dealt with the blocked down pipe, but the walls will take some time to dry out. There are damp walls in the Lady Chapel and the architect and the contractors are investigating this. Two new hatches have been made in the roof that will make access easier and safer for clearing the gutters and down pipes.

The copper pipes on the central heating were stolen twice! Once was by thieves who broke a stain glass window breaking in. Most of the cost of the repairs to the heating system and the window will be met by insurance. There is little we can do to improve the security of the Church against such thefts as they are motivated by the world market price of copper!

The two cottages have problems with their drains that are being investigated by the architect. Some of the toilets in the parish centre are blocked and the cause of this us being investigated by the architect.

Stacking Dish Patens for use at the Eucharist were added to the goods of the Church and all other goods remain in good condition.
