REPORT OF ST. MARY'S NURSERY 2006-2007
St Mary’s Nursery is still in great demand from parents while other nurseries in the area have had difficulties recruiting children. Children There are currently 46 children in the Nursery; 28 of them attend full time and most of the rest at least half time. The morning sessions are all close to our Ofsted certificate limit of 40 children. 4 children have special needs, and we receive a small amount of funding from Brent Council to provide additional resources for them. A few parents receive at least partial funding from a variety of agencies, and all 3 and 4 year olds continue to be entitled to the Nursery Education Grant, paid directly to the Nursery 3 times a year by Brent Council. Staff We have 8 full time nursery staff, and some part time cover. The trainee achieved her NVQ and now works full time. The cook left after just under a year to work nearer home, and Samira El Majdoub has taken over, and is near completion of a probationary period. All the staff continued to attend courses during the year. Fees The nursery fees are reviewed every 2 years, and were raised at the beginning of April 2007. They are now £130 for a full time place with a scale of rates for part time places. Finances Audited accounts for the financial year 2005-6 will be available at the APCM. The Nursery has contributed to the finances the parish by paying £18 496 for the universal access lavatory in church and £3 410 for repairs to the Parish Centre.
