SACRED HARP

Dear All,

On Tuesday, 14 February, we will have our monthly "Second Tuesday" evening singing at St. Mary's Parish Centre in Willesden, London, NW10.

I will do a 20-minute crash course for "beginners" starting at 7:00 pm; we will begin the regular evening singing at around 7.30 pm.

The singing is held at:

St. Mary's Church,
The Parish Centre,
18 Neasden Lane
London
NW10 2TS

Please bring a Sacred Harp (1991 edition) if you have one; some loaners will be available.

We will sing at the Parish Centre, not the church proper. The Parish Centre is the 1970s building on the other side of the churchyard from St. Mary's Church.

You are always welcome to come for a while and then leave when convenient to you. There is no requirement that you arrive or leave on time, but it would be good if we could aim to have a core group in the square and singing by 7.30 pm. We will start when we have enough singers to make the square.

We will have a break with tea and biscuits at some point, and will generally aim to close up before 10 pm.

St. Mary's Church is within walking distance of Neasden tube (Jubilee line, zone 3), and it is also easy to park there. The best parking is in the cul-de-sac which runs BEHIND the churchyard, because the road has unrestricted parking.

Other Sacred Harp events:

1st Tuesday 7 February 7.30 pm: Heath Street Baptist Church
and
3rd Monday, 20 February 7.15 pm St. George's Church, Bloomsbury.

Please contact me if you have any further questions.

-Michael

There is a always a selection of greetings cards for sale at the Sell – and if you give her plenty of notice Kathy may even be able to make a card for a special occasion!

PARISH CENTRE LETS

The Parish Centre is being used on a regular basis by a number of different groups, and Elsie Points is now looking after the diary. If you are planning to use a room or the hall for a meeting (still no parties whatsoever!) it is essential that you check the availability with Elsie, and then make a booking through her.

RECYCLING

We’re doing very well at reducing our waste, but please remember to check the labels on the bins before throwing anything in – they are beginning to get a bit muddled again! And if you notice that a bin is getting full perhaps you could take the contents to a recycling centre, or home if it can be collected.

Don’t forget to return the cardboard cup holders as they can be reused until they wear out.

BIRTHDAY AND ANNIVERSARY DATES

If you would like a name included with the anniversaries or birthdays in the weekly booklet and on this website, please give it to Elsie in writing, or email Alison at:
