ANNIVERSARY DATES

Memorial Book

We are going to create a book with the anniversaries of death of our loved ones. This will be placed in the Easter Sepulchre in the Shrine Chapel, and will always be open on the proper page for that day.

Whenever there is Mass, those whose anniversary falls that day will be prayed for.

The location has been deliberately chosen. First, the Sepulchre is one of the oldest parts of the church, used for the altar of repose after the Maundy Thursday Liturgy of the Last Supper. And what we now call the Shrine Chapel was once the site of a chantry chapel (or very close to it), where masses were said for the dead in medieval times.

If you would like name(s) recorded in this book, please write them on the sheet available after this service on the table near the door.

RECYCLING

We’re doing very well at reducing our waste, but please remember to check the labels on the bins before throwing anything in – they are beginning to get a bit muddled again! And if you notice that a bin is getting full perhaps you could take the contents to a recycling centre, or home if it can be collected.

Don’t forget to return the cardboard cup holders as they can be reused until they wear out.

PARISH CENTRE LETS

The Parish Centre is being used on a regular basis by a number of different groups, and Elsie Points is now looking after the diary. If you are planning to use a room or the hall for a meeting (still no parties whatsoever!) it is essential that you check the availability with Elsie, and then make a booking through her.
