Introduction

St Mary’s Nursery has been set up by the Parochial Church Council of St Mary’s Church as part of its response to the local need for childcare facilities. We are a private nursery receiving no grants or loans from any organisations, other than the Nursery Education Grant to parents of 3 and 4 year olds.

The Nursery is regularly inspected and registered by Ofsted (the Office for Standards in Education). Our staff are qualified or experienced in childcare and first aid.

Opening Hours

Our Nursery is open Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm. We also offer part-time places from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm or 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm, and some sessional places to fit in with the needs of parents.

We are open all year round, except for Bank Holidays and 3 staff training days for which fees are not reduced. We have an ‘open door’ policy, which means that parents may come in at any time without making an appointment.

Our Ethos

As we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and the Birth to Three Matters Curriculum, we encourage all children to learn through play, giving the opportunity to choose their activities and gain independence.

All the children in our care are treated with love, care and respect, and are offered a safe and welcoming environment in which to develop.

Notice to Parents and Guardians

Nursery Fees At a meeting of the Committee of St Mary’s Nursery on Thursday 7th August we reviewed the current rate of fees.

The last increase was in April 2007, and we propose to raise them from 1st January 2009. We will actually apply the new fees for children already in the Nursery from the week beginning 5th January.

Recently the majority of parents have been paying the fees in cash, and only a very few by cheque or bank payment. Although we do understand that some people prefer to use cash, for security and administrative reasons we should be very grateful if you would consider changing. Perhaps when you take money out of your bank you could pay it straight into the St Mary’s Nursery account rather than carrying it to the Nursery for us to take back to the bank!

Please click here to see the revised fees.
