Registering a Child to Attend

We offer a ‘first come first served’ waiting list. You need to fill in a registration form, and pay a non-refundable registration fee of £10. To guarantee a place you will also need to pay a deposit of 2 weeks fees. This deposit is only refundable once 2 weeks written notice is given, even if the child has not yet started at the Nursery.

Children can start at the Nursery from 2 years of age, but you may register a child at any time.

Our settling in procedure is flexible to meet each child’s needs.

Payment

St Mary’s Nursery makes every attempt to keep the fees as low as possible.

Parents may pay weekly or monthly to the Nursery Manager. (If paying monthly please pay monthly in advance.) Payments should be made by the end of Wednesday each week in order to be credited to your account and banked.

Fees are payable in full even when your child is absent from the Nursery.

We always give a receipt for each payment. We will accept cash but we prefer cheques or bank payments for security reasons.

The bank details are available from the Nursery Manager, and cheques should be made payable to: St Mary’s Nursery Ltd.

If you do get into payment arrears amounting to more than the deposit you have paid we will have to ask you to remove your child from St Mary's Nursery until your debt has been paid.

Nursery Education Grant (NEG)

The Brent Guide to Free Nursery Education for 3 and 4 year Olds (available from Brent Council or on www.Brent.gov.uk) includes the following passages:

"Through Brent Council, the Department for Education and Skills (DFES), funds part-time early education places for all three and four year olds whose parents want one. … Children become eligible for a free place from the start of the term after their third birthday. This means that your child must be three before the first day of the month of the new term…"

"If your child attends five sessions or more at a nursery or reception class they cannot receive further free nursery funding in another setting..."

Parents of eligible children should find out what the provider’s policy is with regard to reducing or reimbursing fees for the Free Nursery Education sessions."

St Mary’s Nursery is registered with Brent Council for the NEG. We do not work in ‘terms’, but the DFES dates are the first day of January, April and September, and the Brent qualifying dates for being on our register are always in the middle of those months.

Our policy is to use the NEG to cover any fee arrears, and then to suspend fees until the NEG is used up, or to offer to reduce payments over a few weeks to spread the benefit of the NEG.

Nursery Fees

The weekly fees from January 2009 are:

Full time £140
Part time (am or pm) £ 90
Full day sessions £ 35
Half day sessions £ 25
