What We Provide
Food, Meal Times and Rest
The children receive three meals a day:
Breakfast is between 8 am and 9 am
We provide a wide range and variety of meals which are prepared and cooked freshly in our kitchen. The staff who cook receive training and the kitchen is inspected to meet Health and Safety requirements.
We can cater for special diets – just let us know.
We also have a Snack Table with water and healthy snacks continually available.
Children are invited to rest after lunch, but they may rest at any time during the day.
If you are going to bring your child in late but in time for lunch, please inform the Nursery by 10:30 am.
Potty Training
Children do not have to be potty trained to start at the Nursery, and we provide nappies.
Once a child is settled in we will start to train him or her to use the toilet. We will explain how we are doing this so that you can continue this practice at home. Parental support is a key to success.
Parental Involvement
We like to see parental involvement throughout the Nursery, from joining in activities to giving feedback (views, comments, ideas). There is a Comments Board for you to use.
We update parents and carers with regular newsletters - please read these as they often contain details of events and requests for junk, newspapers etc.
The Parents Board has lots of useful information; so please take time to update yourself with it.
Child Care Policies and Procedures
We have policies and procedures in place to cover the way the nursery runs, and these are regularly reviewed and updated.
All our policies and procedures may be viewed at any time. Please ask any member of staff.
Special Educational Needs
We have a trained Senco (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator). We ensure that any child in our care who has special needs is cared for with the same rights as any other child attending the Nursery, as set out in our Policy on Special Educational Needs.
