There are many opportunities to get involved - singing, flower arranging, church cleaning, St. Anne's Guild, youth work, house groups or parish visiting are just a few.

Singing: the Music Group meets on Wednesdays at 7.30, and again at 9.45 on Sundays for a short practice before the morning service - why not join us! We are always happy to welcome new members. You don't have to have any experience or even to be able to read music, as long as you can sing in tune you will be welcome. Don't worry, you won't be asked to sing a solo or do anything you don't want to do.

Bell Ringing: the bell ringers practice every Tuesday evening from 7.30 pm. Want to learn? Further details from Roger Bailey (speak to Fr. David).

Click here for more information about the bells at St Mary's.

St Anne's Guild ("The Senior Youth Group") meets every first Saturday of the month at 11 am in the Parish Centre. Further details from Eve Lane.

House Groups: a variety of House Groups meet in the parish for fellowship and discussion. Further details from Esther Ugwunkwo.

Social Events

We have a varied programme of social events including a summer barbecue, bingo, Games Nights and other fund raising social evenings, such as international evenings, quiz nights or beetle drives. Newly established traditions include a summer Saturday evening picnic concert at Kenwood, and occasional theatre trips, most recently to see Mary Poppins in 2007.

We have one or two coach trips each summer - for example to Warwick Castle in 2007, and the Isle of Wight in 2008. Last year we had an enjoyable day out in Canterbury and Ramsgate on 8 August. Keep an eye on the Noticeboard page for more details of social events.

For the last three years a group of us have been on a weekend pilgrimage to the shrine of Our Lady at Walsingham, and another visit is planned for October 2010.

A memorable and exciting innovation in 2005 was our Church Pilgrimage to Rome - nearly 50 of us spent 5 days in Rome in February, visiting the Vatican, St Peters, the Catacombs and Coliseum and many of the other famous churches and other sights. In 2006 an even larger group embarked on a cruise of the western Mediterranean, calling at Genoa, Monte Carlo, Valencia, Tunis and Malta - visiting a cathedral in every port!

We have a yearly Christmas Bazaar in December to raise funds. Volunteers are always needed, but everyone enjoys themselves and we usually succeed in raising some much needed cash.

The annual Willesden Pilgrimage and Festival Weekend, held in May, is a highlight of our year. We welcome visitors from all over the diocese and further afield to a special service and procession in which our icon of the Black Virgin is carried in procession through the streets of Willesden.
